Our Projects & Collaborations

Discover the impact Sustainable Paremoremo is making in restoring nature, managing pests, and building community through our various projects. Explore each project in detail to see how you can get involved and make a difference in our local environment.

👋Community Resilience

This project builds local networks to prepare for emergencies such as power outages and floods. Through buddy systems, workshops, and shared emergency resources, it ensures Paremoremo residents can stay connected and supported during crises.

🪤 Pest Control Project

Working towards a predator-free Paremoremo, this initiative supports local residents in trapping possums, rats, and mustelids. SP provides trap loans, data tracking, and education to protect native wildlife.

🍏 Kai Rākau – NZ Food Tree Project

A community food forest aiming to grow and share heritage fruit trees while teaching sustainable gardening. The paddock has been cleared and revitalized through volunteer efforts and donations of tools and grafted trees.

♻️ Chip Packet Project NZ

Transforms used chip packets into survival blankets for people experiencing homelessness. Sustainable Paremoremo supports the initiative by collecting packets locally and hosting hands-on workshops where volunteers help sort, clean, and create the blankets. It’s a practical way to reduce waste while helping those in need.

🌿 Sanders Reserve Planting

Focused on reforesting Sanders Reserve with native species, this project restores degraded land, improves biodiversity, and provides hands-on planting opportunities for residents of all ages.

🎟️ Events & Workshops

SP regularly hosts community events such as tree grafting workshops, composting tutorials, and emergency planning sessions. These events foster connection and skill-building across the community.
